shattered glass.

The shattered glass seen below was discovered in one of the old war rooms at Alcatraz.  I spent a solid 20 minutes photographing it from all sorts of angles - I just couldn't get over it's breathtaking beauty.  I never imagined myself saying a I found a prison beautiful but Alcatraz isn't like most prisons - it's hauntingly stunning.  A reminder of a lost era.  And a reminder that stunning can be found in the everyday.
